I have maya 2015 64 bit, running on Windows 8. I've been playing with the standalone Octane render, which is working fine. I wanted to try the Maya plugin demo. I downloaded and it appeared to install. However, I can't find the file octane.dll anywhere. (I assume it should have installed in programs/Autodesk/maya2015/plug-ins.) When I run Maya and open the Windows->Setting/Preferences/Plug-in Manager dialog, octane doesn't appear in the list. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the plugin. I tried uninstalling the standalone and then installing the plugin (I thought maybe you only needed the plugin but I doubt it). Nothing fixed the problem. Any advice? Thanks.

Hi Mango,

Try running the installer as administrator and make sure to select the correct Maya version during install.
There should be a "OctanePlugin.mll" in the Maya2015/bin/plug-ins folder, and octane.dll and octane.dat in the Maya2015/bin/ folder.

Thanks. I tried that and it didn't work. It acts like it's installing, but afterwards nothing has been installed.

I'm having the same issue, except I'm on windows 7 and Maya 2014, there is nothing in my plugin directory, I have installed the demo 4 times, twice with run as Admin. Also when i installed the stand alone i get a error when i try to run it.. "the procedure entry point cuMemGetInfo_v2 could not be located in the dynamic link library nvcuda.dll" so neither demo is working for me....

Yes , I did and I'm on Windows 7 .... Maya 2016 ext 2

I have a screenshot of the installation process.... here is what happens :
Output folder: C:\Program Files (x86)\OctaneRender for Maya
Create folder : C:\Program Files (x86)\OctaneRender for Maya
Create folder : C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\OctaneRender for Maya
Create shortcut C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\OctaneRender for Maya\Uninstall
Create shortcut C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\OctaneRender for Maya\Uninstall\User Manual
No octane.dll and .dat are created.

I have tried with Maya 2015 and it worked fine.... I copied the octane.dll octane.dat and octaneplugin.mll from the maya2015 folders to the 2016 folders but when I try to load Octane in the plugin manager of Maya 2016 , I get an error message about the procedure specified that cant be find ....

Last version of the plugin doesn't support yet Maya 2016 ext 2.
Last Maya version supported by the demo plugin is Maya 2016 EXT1 sp6.

@bepeg4d,
Thanks Bepe to have pointed the compatibility issue :)
