They're showing the 1080 only marginally faster than the 980 TI. Not optimized yet of course. Very excited about the coming 1080 compatibility in Octane!

Strange benchmark. There are 3x and 4x GTX 970 rigs that are supposedly faster than 4x GTX 980 ...

Yes, don´t take it to serious, they test with different Blender versions over several years.
Test your GTX with Octane 1.55 and with 3.0, you cant compare the results.
It would be nice if the update the benchmark, rather good idea.
