I've played now with volumes medium and all new medium nodes since V3 alpha and i think it could be usefull to be able to modify all these nodes in the node editor like materials. I think it could be also usefull with light tags. In fact, i love the node editor and now i think the C4D like material editor is boring...

I've found also a little problem with all premade buttons in these new medium nodes or light tags by sample (like Cloud in volume object, Fog in environment object or IES light): it works fine if i keep these node structures without modify it and just changing values but, if i try to change a node (replacing a RGBSpectrum by a FloatTexture by sample), it gives almost each time an eractic result with two sliders moving together or node disappairing, etc. It's not a very important issue, in these cases i simply remove the medium or emitter node and restart the structure from scratch but it could be really usefull to do that in node editor.
I think the node editor is now strong enough to become the 'central station' of the plugin. You should capitalize on this hard (and fantastic) work.
Another little things:
- The button 'node editor' is a great thing. For ergonomy, it should be there on each tab. Not only the base tab.
- Double clic on an Octane material, or any shortcut you choose, should open the node editor.
- When you clic on the 'node editor' button, if the node editor pane is already docked as tab, it doesn't activate the tab of the node editor.
- For the LiveDB pane, the separation between tree structure and list of materials is always on the middle of the pane by default. Is it possible to define a 1/3 - 2/3 proportion?
- In the LiveDB pane too, is it possible to highlight the selected folder? There is the category path at the top of the pane, but it's not visualy easy to immediatly identify the selected folder.
That's all. No critics here, only positive suggestions from a fan.
