The GTX 1080 uses CUDA code version 8 which has not been released by Nvidia yet.

There's nothing Otoy can do until Nvidia release ver.8, update the drivers to support and Otoy can develop any changes to Octane code to match

Hi,

We are currently tracking the situation with CUDA version 8, so that we can update the build asap. There is a lot of buzz around the 1080, and we want to get Octane working with the GPU as soon as v8 is available.

As of yesterday, GTX 1080 runs CUDA ver. 8. Bought it yesterday, installed yesterday, crying today because Octane doesn't support it yet and I'm in the middle of a project. Cannot go back to my old computer because it's fried. Life is cruel.

Can't you take out the graphics card or is it completely fried? Don't know if you have ever build a computer, but replacing a graphics card is really simple!

I know how you must feel
Like you want to render with it so intensely, you can almost feel it with you in your dreams.
Just don't let go....don't let go...

The graphics card is also malfunctioning. I have an old gtx 770 on another computer, but there is a problem with the V3 licensing that doesn't allow me to activate Octane's license...

Hi,

Please confirm that you are running CUDA 7.5 or higher. Any additional information you can provide about your license issues would be appreciated. Is this only happening when activating the plugin, or is it also affecting the standalone?

I'm running CUDA 8.0. Octane now works on my old computer, after installing the last version of OctaneRender. Thanks!
