does octane 2 recognize gtx 1080 ok

Or it will be octane 3. Is octane 3 optimized already for 1080.

No, no and no. :D
Nvidia does not finished the Cuda Toolkit 8.0, needed for the GTX 10xx series.
There is only a Release Candidate for testing.
We hope Nvidia finish it until end of July then Octane can update version 3.0 for GTX 10xx.
