Hi;

I'm having a really weird problem while rendering a scene using the network render.

In totally random instances the render halts yet the render timer keeps going. Cinema4d is responsive during this time and thinks that the renderer is still rendering. The logs don't show any signs of a problem as the last report is usually something like this:
FRAME 265 fps:25 camMb:0 objMb:0
Movable:2 Nodes:84 Tri:0/49k Mesh:3 Hair:0 Used/free/total vram:1.017Gb/2.078Gb/4Gb
I can't pin point the issue as the logs don't help me. Is there any other way to track this down? Or has this ever happened to anyone else?

Thanks.

Yes, happens on every single project to some degree. Just have to keep an eye on the render and hope it doesn't happen too often. Not ideal but I have noticed that it's improved in the last couple of months.

Maybe this has something to do with the new network rendering system? The clients save their own frame buffers and send them only from time to time, if I understand correctly. You could try and play around with "Max. tile samples" and "Minimize net traffic".

If this is a client/daemon issue plugin does nothing on this process. Just wait for results from Renderer. Can you PM to Abstrax? It's his part.

I'm experiencing exactly the same problem right now, it's really annoying especially during night renders.

If anyone of You finds solution to this problems, please inform the rest of us. Thanks !

Aoktar, ok as soon as I'll stumble upon the problem again I'll try to gather more information. Thanks!

And it happened again. I was trying to get into console, to give You some feedback, but as as soon as
I clicked off the Live viewer and got into the "settings" it froze up. Tried to do it few times in a row,
and it always behaved this way. Maybe the log outputs save somewhere as a txt?

I'm often rendering during the night, for which I need to connect via Teamviewer with the computer in my work,
to check if everything goes well, although I don't think that teamviewer itself pose problem here.

Computer which i'm using has 1x 980 Ti GPU, and is connected via hardware with additional 1 or 2 computers.
first one of them has 2x 980Ti GPUS, and the second 1x 980Ti GPU. I don't recall having freezes like that using
single GPU on my workstation.

At the moment I am unable to give You more info I think.

Cheers
