Please remove any installed versions of the Octane for C4D plugin. Please be aware that there are two possible locations: One in c:\program files\maxon\cinema 4d\plugins and the other one in c:\users\<user name>\app data\roaming\c4d_r17.0_...\plugins. After deinstalling the plugin please verify that the plugin is not installed anymore by launching C4D.

Then download and install this version:

I de-installed and re-installed the plugin a few more times and on the third try it started working third time lucky, guess it's the v3 charm
