Before upgrading to 3 (Blender plug-in), I need to know if I can keep using my version 2?
E.g. can I have both installed and switch back and forth as I please? Some Blender functions stopped working in one of the 2.x releases, and I need to keep using those in the future.
Am I allowed to switch between version 2 and 3?

Hi mbutler2,
standalone has no problem while c4d cannot have more then one plugin at a time. But you can have c4d R16 with v2 and R17 with v3, or use Plugin Boss to switch back an forth between versions

It's not up to plugins. It's about C4D. Manually change name of plugin file or use the helper plugin as Beppe said or use another copy of C4D folder.
