I 'am new to Octane and am very happy with how quickly I am getting to understand how to use it and loving the speed.
I have got to make an amendment to a project that I have used the cell render and the Proximal shader to drive a colour change.
My client now wants a more traditional render and I thought as I am not in a rush I would try to use Octane, but I found the proximal shader didn't work.
I figured that I could drop the proximal shader in the Mix shader to drive the mix but found this didn't work, The placement didn't match and it didn't animate.
Is there a way of mimicking the poxamal shader in Octane or am I barking up the wrong tree?
C4d Proximal shader
Hi Dwas2000,
best to ask in the c4d section, next time
You can bake the proximal as a grayscale sequence and use it in the amount of a mix material, or if the effect is not complex, you can approximate the Proximal with a dirt octane node
