I just put together a Milk material a week or 2 ago after looking at the crappy one in the LiveDB, it's rather simple, no textures required and does what I wanted, it might or might not need tweaking for what you want to use it for.
It's a little grey looking in the example, but that's mainly due to the lighting and if it's too watery/thin looking, it can be thickened up by increasing the 'Density' setting under 'Scattering'.
