If I purchase an new v2 standalone and modo plugin today do we get grandfathered in to v3 or do we still have to pay for the upgrade to v3 next week?

I need an extra license today! and can't wait one week. Regardless I'll upgrade my existing v2 license.

We have (but never use) the standalone. We also have (and always use) the 3ds plugin.

Can we just upgrade the plugin to v3 or do we also need to upgrade our standalone version too?
