Hi Paul!

Would it be possible to preview bitmaps and Octane procedural textures in the schematic editor on the corresponding nodes???
Maybe there is a limitation in Modo here, but it would be awesome.

An example from C4D editor.
download/file.php?id=51853&mode=view

Kind regards
Fredrik

Hi Fredrik - I have wanted to do this for a while, however it is not easy to implement in the Modo environment. And I have concerns that it will cause lag. However it's on the list of things to investigate in more detail in the future.

Sounds great! Hope you have time to look in to this soon.
One way to prevent lag could be to be able to turn the preview on and off globally. And it would be absolutely enough to see updates on the current selected/active node.
Keep it simple. My main goal is to be able to understand complex materials better by looking at the complete tree structure seeing the small previews as well as being able to faster dial in proper values for procedural textures.
