I was away for 1 day so I started a big size rendering with octane, but during the render proces octane crashed, so no image to save.........
Please add a render to disk option!
Thanks

never had this problem till now but incremental save to disk, with user defined interval and on/off overwrite toggle, could be a nice add on indeed.

Hi,
When it's running it's actually quite stable, i've left mant renders render over a whole weekend for testing film buffer accumulation etc...
This could be a power or GPU temperature issue. maybe try to lower your clockspeed of your GPU a bit.
there's a nice free tool (evga precision) that you can download (registration required) to keep an eye on temps and change the clock speed.
(we would'nt recommend making it higher and we will not be held responsible for any damages to hardware if people overclock hardware and break it)
underclocking however is offcourse safe, so give it a go, it should make an overnight stable.

Thanks for the tips but even then it would be handy to have the option to save to disk, in case of energy loss, automatic updating of windows, etc. etc.
Also you can see different render passes and you will see better how many passes you will need when rendering an animation.
Sjonsjine
Radiance, is everything okay again with you? I hope so.

An auto-save image to disk would indeed be useful, overwriting at every 100 samples or something.
On very large models I get crashes and the card is not overheating as far as I know.

It's on our short-term list

Good to know!

perfect, this means that post production can start during octane renders!radiance wrote:Hey,Marc Tellier wrote:An auto-save image to disk would indeed be useful, overwriting at every 100 samples or something.
