Np! Why don't use "render instances" here? Do you have a special reason? Also do you need to see caustics? And why so much diffuse depth did you used?

Render instance option is marked in picture. It avoids to recreate geometries for each clones. Much faster export times and less vram usage. But this not will give you speed here. Your scene is a pain for any kind of pathtracer. Lot of objects visually overlapped with roughnessed specular materials. Also scatter medium plus DOF effect. It requires lot of rays to trace for each point. So causes very slow progress, even for a gpu pathtracer. I have tweaked some parameters as much as possible. But there is no any magic for this scene. You can think twice about another setup.
Also crashes should be about some problems with high temperature on gpu or unsufficcient power on system. It's not about Octane itself, about gpu.
