Hello all,
I am having some issues with x-particles and octane render. For some reason when I render particles in octane they are subtracting from my object in the scene revealing the background and not being rendered on their own. The only way you can see them is when they are in front of the object. I am just using a standard emitter that I want to emit from the object. The particles render fine in the physical render and the standard but when I go to octane it gives me the results in the picture. I have attached an image with this post. Any help would be much appreciated.
Update: I have installed the newest version of Octane 2.25 and Octane Alpha 6.2 and now I can not see the particles at all and the option for render particle systems is missing. What am I doing wrong?

Update: I found the particle rendering option in the newest version. But my particles are still not being shown in the render. Do I need to place the object tag on the emitter or on the xpsystem. I have tried both and none of them work.

I can see it has something to do with the multipass selection in the setting. When the multipass selection is turned off it can show the particles that are generated with the sprite generator. But of course this is causing my viewport to crash because it is generating geometry for each particle. I have been working on a project where all I had to do was put an octane texture on the emitter and it worked fine with the multipass option selected. Is there any way octane can render particles without having to generate extra geo?
Dear friend,
Renderlayer seems activated on your scene.
Btw you have two options. To use render instances or octane object tag on xpemitter. Find particles tab and switch to sphere mode and link some objects with octane material.

I know I should know this but how exactly do you activate render instances in Octane? Sorry for the noob question. Basically I am trying to get this effect( https://vimeo.com/96753685 ). Will rendering instances allow me to not have to render the geo? Mainly will it make my render faster and more stable once I start adding more particles. Right now I am rendering 500,000 particles and I am using sprites to render the particles with geo ( taking 12 minutes to analyze 130 frames). I will update you once the scene has finished with my results. In the mean time if you could tell me where to find render instances that would be very helpful thanks so much for your response to this thread.
Don't try anything else Octane plugin's particle engine for this. Otherwise It will kill the performance. I tried to point that on my previous answer, read second option. Check this scene

OK I opened up the project file and it worked well as far as the viewport. But when I render it will render once. When I restart another render it shows nothing. All of the particles disappear without me touching anything on the second render. I have to re-open the project file for the render to work on the first try but after that there are no particles. I have the latest version of x-particles installed. Seeing how you zipped the file I have attached my project file with both your emitter and mine so you could take a look. I got the disappearing particles in both my project file and yours.
Thanks
Thanks

I think I may have figured it out. When I go to the picture view all particles show up and it renders very fast so far. I really appreciate your help man your a god send. I will update you once I have got something to show. Thanks again man. If you could recommend any advanced octane classes or anything please send them my way. I have already taken the one provided by Hello Luxx.
