I thought I'd test Deep compositing with my own rendered images.

Here's what I've set up.

What's missing?
I looked for Deep rendering in the manual, but it's only mentioned once, in a heading.
There are four major rendering kernels in OctaneRender™: Direct Lighting, Path Tracing, PMC and Deep Channel.
What does that even mean? I don't have any deep channel kernel.

When I load the EXR in Nuke, I'm told this, which to me indicates the deep rendering in Octane isn't working properly, or I missed something.

What's also tipping me off is what the Shuffle node looks like.
I'm not a seasoned compositor, but I've never seen this before.

RGB isn't.. RGB. r R gG ?

Some input on the matter would be very helpful.

With deep channel, the info channels kernel is meant. So there are 4 kernels: path tracing, direct lighting, pmc & info (deep) channels. Deep image rendering is a 3.0 feature and isn't in the manual yet. Deep image rendering has nothing to do with the info channels. I know it's confusing.

Both the path tracing and the direct lighting kernel have the option to render deep images. I don't know how it's done in the LightWave plugin but this is how you configure it in the standalone (bottom of the kernel settings).

Aah, ok, there was a check box I had missed in the Path Tracing kernel. Re-rendering now. Luckily it won't take long for a single frame.
Thanks
