Octane 3 for 3ds max

A lot of things could be added in 3.0 but, for real, make all native max maps compatible. Every renderer i am using/testing uses all max maps except octane. In octane for c4d u can use c4d maps as well...
Our company dropped octane 2.x before even starting it, for that reason alone. We need the max maps and their features plz.

ps. a triplanar projection as well as an exclude/include objects from lights would also be great.

Yep agree, include/exclude objects from lights is another missing essential feature.

Our studio invested several ten thousand of Euro's in new hardware, Octane licenses, asset conversion; I think the frustration is reasonable.

wow i did not even know Octane can support native maps. we cannot do liquid motion blur, use native texture ;( even though 3ds max is the most popular 3d software

Was there any mention of a new denoise system in Octane 3 or do we wait till 3.1? Any ideas when 3.1 will be available for Max?

I've been a badge wearing, flag flying Octane user since beta and surely this is one of the most important things? Only had a brief play with Redshift, but noise free renderings are much quicker than with Octane and image quality is easy good enough. Don't really care if one is biased and the other isn't, end results are the same but much faster with Redshift.

Not for nothing but even Vray RT has caught up and surpassed Octane, and renders much faster. It's a real shame, Octane has such potential but lack of 3dsmax needed development, and not enough or very slow forum support makes it almost impossible to rely on Octane for a production environment. I feel it all falls on def ears reading how disappointed everyone is, year after year it's the same complaints when I come back here. Look at Corona, came after Octane and is being upgraded and developed into a reliable production ready renderer, and when you ask a question in the forum or have a problem, they get back to you instantly.

You sure VRayRT is faster than Octane? I haven't been trying VRayRT lately but did you made some tests you can share?

Feedback is never ignored when it is actionable. We want it.

As a group, the OR community has been constructive in letting us know when we're not addressing something as well as we ought to be. It has helped improve Octane many times over.

3DS Max is our first Octane plug-in and it is near and dear to us. We are going to be adding more dedicated resources shortly, as we recently did with Maya.
