I had a demo version of Octane for Cinema 4D installed on my Windows 8.1 machine. I purchased a full license for the standalone and C4D Octane plugin. I installed and activated the standalone. When I started Cinema 4D, I got this error followed by a crash:
Error message:
Crash message:
After doing some searching on these forums, I learned to delete the oct.dat file in the Cinema 4D preferences folder. When I started C4D again, the error message is gone, but it continues to crash. It's definitely something to do with the Octane plugin because Cinema 4D will start without the plugin in the folder.
Please help. Thank you!
Octane crashes C4D - can't open it

Hi,
this crash shows a problem for loading octane.dll on start. What's the version of plugin and standalone?
Pls be sure, you have c4doctane directory on plugins. And only one c4doctane-R15.cdl or related version. Also give a try without any plugins.

Yes, that's my problem, since I installed octane standalone and the C4D plugin, it crashes cinema 4D and can't open it, it stays all time at the initializing plugins window.. and stantalone doesn't starts either. If I unninstall the plugin it opens again (C4D). Btw, the demo version worked well on my comp.aoktar wrote:What's your problem? Do you have antivirus software? Or firewall blockage? It's similar this which happened to some user. I think it's crashing while trying to connect internet. Please disable if you have. But if your standalone also can't work, there should be some issue about drivers.
What's your more info? OS? C4D version? Drivers?

and las CUDA drivers. 7.5 i think. Unnintalled the antivirus but its the same..
Glad that you fixed it. It's very ridiculous but apparently some antivirus makes blocking. I'm using Avira and works fine.stikidiky wrote:HOLLY SHIT has the f***ing VPN antiviruse !Really thanks Aoktar you are a boss !
