Hi,

3ds max seems to be the only one beside Maya that hasnt yet the Octane 3 Plugin. Could you tell when it will be available?

Kindly

We'll post them after the GTC announcements.

I think maya and 3ds max should be the first programs to get those plugins since they are the most popular.

..that's what us autodesk users think :) .. silly isn't it.. or how the 3dsmax plugin was the first one developed and started the plugin development process

.. and to think I actually switched from c4d to 3dsmax (among other reasons) because I expected better and faster plugin development for octane ..

... now I'd love to switch back to c4d rather than use the standalone, but really don't wanna pay for another licence :/

Hey,

All first-party plugin developers are also working on Octane 3 itself. Because of this, first-party plugins, including 3ds Max, will coincide more closely with the release of Octane 3 itself.

(followed by another 3 month debugging period, and another 6 months until it's stable or a year or two)

- that's cool.. but.. - I'm still on 2.21.1 and would really want to switch to the new version at some point.. the material conversion from old to new should be implemented the same way it converts vray to octane - that's a must right now ... (as I have hundreds of works and materials saved, and making around 10 models/render per week..)

coilbook, I think this was done deliberately to make the announcement and immediately announce a price. I hope I'm wrong and the plugin for 3ds max will be free and will include all features that were stated in the beginning, otherwise why so long we do not see it?

The wait was so we could get the plugin moved over to OctaneEngine and not make this change after its in user hands.

Thank you guys for your patience and hope we see answering your needs with this roadmap.
