Hi Friends;

I have a question about choosing the cpu for faster loading scene to GPU ?

I have an Amd fx8350 4ghz but i think very slowly about loading scene to GPU for instantce rendering 1.30 minute but loading at least 1 minute...

Which kind of cpu i must choose ? Intel i7 or xenon ?

look for the thread Yam started on PCIe speed impact on loading times

Thanks for answer, i know only amd cpu's 4.5GHz+ what do you think about amd ? is it enough ?

But another problem about amd, i can't find enough mainboard for 4+ graphic cards.

It's a wide topic but shorty speaking PCIe 16x is twice as fast as 8x which is twice as fast as 4x which is twice as fast as 2x .....

The more gpus you have the more likely they will be slower (only in terms of geometry load, not rendering speed) - usually gaming mobos give you up to two gpus at 16x, and 4 with 8x (good mobo). There are only few that give you four gpus at 16x (asus x99 e ws with dual plx chips), asrock ws e or extreme 11. You shall get 40pci cpu - at least 5930k to get non-problematic support for higher pcie speeds. Look at new machine I built for Yam - it has 4 gpus at 16x.
