Hello, Jim Star. Two questions:
1. Is there a way to render vertex color information in 3dsmax with octane 2.24-16 ?
I use thinkbox frost for many tasks and it uses vertex color information from particles color, for example. With scanline render it renders nicely with vertex color map material applied. But in octane I always get grey diffuse then. Is there any workaround ?
2. Is VC support something very hard to code in GPU or it's just a matter of time and priorities?
cheers
workaround for vertex color support?

+1 I'm also curious about this

+1 I use SOUP for Maya often generating vertex colors as well. Would love to see it renderable in octane. If I am missing something, I'm all ears.

Hey,
Thank you for raising this question, and apologies for the belated response.

Vertex color support is not currently available in Octane. Upcoming versions of Octane could go a long way to resolving this, though this will depend on some higher priority additions. Once this is in place, it will be possible to explore providing this support in the MAX, and other plugins as well.
Until then, the most viable alternative would be to utilize a texturemap/uv solution (see link for a good example).
Cheers,
Azen
