Hello,

last night, I started three renders of three scenes using the C4D render queue and the octane net renderer.
I use 4 slaves with and 10 GPU in total.

The render queue stopped working half past midnight. I lost 10 hours of rendering time.
Rending with octane network and C4D renderqueue seems unstable.

I'm using latest R17 with octane 2.25

Is this a common know problem?

I'm not sure but there is not different against manual rendering by plugin. Anyway someone posted some problems but i couldn't reproduce. If you give me more details we can check it.

i prefer to render either with royalrender when i dont need the net-standalone. or when i want to use the standalone i use this plugin: https://niklasrosenstein.com/2015/08/pv ... lable-now/

then you can also see whats happening in pictureviewer.

Just to percise: I was using the octane netrender option, with the octane render daemons.

I investigated further:
I was not a problem of the C4D render quere, as I restarted the renders using the C4D picture viewer. The render crashed as well later on.
Then I changed the maschine, where I started the render: same issue.

It seams that C4D doesn't recognise that octane is crashing. When I quit the picture viewer C4D ask's me if I want to cancel the render.

Same here
I don't use renderqueue anymore if i can't check it. (Night week-end etc...)
but it is really unpredictable. Sometimes it's work sometimes not.

I don't see any problems on my tests. Be sure that you're using latest version. Also i suppose that's ok without seeing any detailed information about problems and reproduced here by me.

IMO very difficult problem. Stability with GPU render is kind of Magic for me.
I have two config with either two 780ti.
One is stable, the other not. Same version of c4d (R15) same version of octane (2.23.2), Same version of windows7, same version of driver.
one is bixeon, the other icore7.
the non-stable station have two Asus OC Edition (may be the cause here).
especialy this station don't like animated vertex with Alembic, and not to much displacement.

But the render queue problem occur on the two station. And is very aleatory.
Crash occur often in the first frames of an animation. If i restart the render it goes until the end.
On the first render in the queue it's not a big probleme, but on the second its more annoying.
So even on the same station the problem is not reproducible.
I suspected if I send you a scene who have crashed with me, there will be no problem in your.

seem a matter of mixed hadware, os, gpu, versions inextricable problem.

Flcc,
You should drop some details about crashes. Words are not useful for me. Can you please explain what's crashing? C4D? Can you send me bugreports, scenes, etc? If there is some problems about limitations of renderer or stability of your cards, it's not matter for plugin side. Bugreport.zip is very important to see crash points.

It's not C4D crashes. Most often I have a windows message saying "nvidia driver has been recupered". Sometimes screens turns black and i must reboot.
Or also the rendering of image stop, but not the render himsfelf. the same image is wrtitten until the end.
In all this case how i can find a bug report since c4d himself don't crash ?

So this is not plugin related even about render queue. I don't know what's the problem. You may try to find which scenes are causing this. If there is not any clue about complexity, content of ayn specific scenes then can be instability issue for driver/gpu. Don't know exactly.
