The option to save Octane's environment settings seems to be gone in the latest version 3.0.4. (screen capture included). Every time I open the Octane plugin it's default is locked at Sun. There used to be a fly-out menu item (>>> arrows beside 'Default')

Yes. The release notes explain why. Use the Modo default scene instead.

I am mising this functionality. I can not find explanation why it has been removed, just found a way to deal with it (in release notes).
Is there any reason why the default setting for the response is Agfa and vignetting is 0.3?

It got removed because it was a flawed way to implement this functionality (the properties did not actually get set to the default values - so when you moved your scene to another PC with default value, the properties would change to those different default values), and using the Modo default scene feature is much better.

They are the defaults in Octane Standalone for these pins.
