Have some questions here regarding the Modo Octane plugin and Octane in general.
When i have the Modo plugin installed other people get a message about missing octane elements(camera and so on) even if octane was never used in the scene.
This is a bit anoying when supplying customers with scene files, the other aspect of it is that im worried this will cause an issue on the renderfarms (Rebusfarm and Garagefarm).
Will this happen with the full version as well and is it possible to do something about it, like making it so that you have to add an octane render item in the scene to enable octane in the scenes it will be utilized or something similar?
The other question is that i see that Octane uses the amount of memory of the card with the lowest Vram.
If i use only my GTX 980 Ti the viewport will be a bit sluggish, if i use an extra GTX 570 to use only for the viewport will that be affecting the Vram om the GTX 980 Ti im using to render?
The last question is related to the Licencing.
We run a small studio with only two people, but we work in two different locations. Will we be having to buy to separate standalone versions and separate plugin licence or is there any way to share the standalone licence?

Yes, this is pretty much how Modo works - and the plugin uses the method recommended by TheFoundry in order to manage packages. If you need to remove the packages, you can use the script at https://docs.otoy.com/Modo/?page_id=1202.When i have the Modo plugin installed other people get a message about missing octane elements(camera and so on) even if octane was never used in the scene.

You haven't said how much VRAM either of those cards use, so it's hard to tell. But the VRAM available for use will be the VRAM of the smallest card. Keep in mind you can turn on Out-Of-Core Textures to store texturemaps in CPU RAM instead of VRAM.The other question is that i see that Octane uses the amount of memory of the card with the lowest Vram.

Each of the Modo plugin licenses will also need a license for Standalone (since the Standalone license can be thought of as the actual renderer license). We run a small studio with only two people, but we work in two different locations. I understand, anyway that script is all i need, just a way of ridding the scene of octane items.Yes, this is pretty much how Modo works - and the plugin uses the method recommended by TheFoundry in order to manage packages. In reagards to the Vram the GTX 980 Ti has 6Gb and the GTX 570 I think has 2Gb, but that is really besides the point, the only question is really if i will be limited by the lowest Vram even if i do not wish that card to contribute to the rendering process, but mearly support the viewportYou haven't said how much VRAM either of those cards use, so it's hard to tell. If you have added Octane Overrides to the Shader Tree in a scene, you will need to delete those too (a simple addition to the script).I understand, anyway that script is all i need, just a way of ridding the scene of octane items.
If the 2GB card is NOT used for rendering, and is used as your Windows display adapter, the VRAM limit for Octane will be 6GB (ie. the VRAM of the smallest card being used by Octane for rendering). In reagards to the Vram the GTX 980 Ti has 6Gb and the GTX 570 I think has 2Gb, but that is really besides the point, the only question is really if i will be limited by the lowest Vram even if i do not wish that card to contribute to the rendering process, but mearly support the viewport
