I seem to be noticing a bit of a shading issue with some exterior renders (it's not the end of the world as the client doesn't care but it is annoying). When doing exteriors I seem to run into a situation where the shading on the materials always seems to have one side darker than another giving is a rather unrealistic look when using pathtracing, PMC or diffuse. I have no Idea whats causing this... Is this something I'm going wrong?

Any Ideas?

It is hard to say, it seems something related with the scene lighting ... perhaps you should try to build a simple scene (with cubes and so on) to see if you can reproduce this behavior.

Perhaps you should try also to tweak the ray epsilon parameter.

Oddly enough, it turns out that for what ever reason I have too much land infront of the house. removing some grass and some of the ground plain solved much of the issue. I'll see if I can replicate it after my contract is up. This is a really odd shadow issue as one might expect that the ceiling above the pillars and walls would see more shading than the pillars and walls them selves...
