Thought I would start a thread here for users of the new SLIK2 kit for Modo.
I've done some initial testing using the latest release of the Octane Modo plugin (v3.0.4) and have found that the lumigons and the HDR created by the SLIK2 kit do not render in the Octane plugin. Modo's standard HDR's (e.g. 3 POINT BEIGE 01) load and work perfectly. Reloading the scene in the Octane viewport does not correct the issue.
SLIK2 kit and Octane...

Lumigons are not working because the material group has a channel modifier controlling the luminous intensity. I can possibly code around this, but there would most likely be a performance cost, so it's something I need to consider carefully.
Rendering of the HDR's from the SLIK2 presets worked for me - however I need to add an Environment Material and the .exr file to the Shader Tree. I couldn't get the generated .hdr to load because I couldn't find where it has saved it to the file system.

I'm able to manually load an HDR created by SLIK2 into the default Modo environment and everything seems to work perfectly. SLIK2 has the option to render out an HDR and then auto loads it once the render is complete. It loads it into a new environment that includes an environment material. The Octane plugin doesn't seem to see it at all. Simply dragging the new HDRI into the default environment also does not work. Reloading the scene in Octane also does not seem to help. It appears that SLIK2 is doing something in the Shader that causes Octane to not see the HDRI. The exr on its own is just fine. My guess is that the issue is specifically related to the newly created Environment and not the HDR itself.
The SLIK2 HDR can be found in the SLIK2 folder found in Modo's Content folder. You should be able to find it under ExportedHDR.
I've attached a basic test scene for you that I've been using. The new environment created by SLIK2 is odd. The HDR image is 'invisible' even when dragged into Modo's default environment folder. The same HDR loaded manually into the default Modo environment works just fine.
FOLLOW UP NOTE: Can't seem to attach a Modo scene file to the post. Paul, I can send it to you directly via email if that works for you.

Just ran a test using HDR Light Studio 5 and didn't run in to any issues with using the HDR it created. Works perfectly with Octane. I'm more convinced now that there's an issue with the new Environment created by SLIK2. Octane doesn't seem to like whatever its doing.

I am investigating both issues, however it is going to take a couple of days to work through them. I will post here when I have news.

Great news - thanks Paul. If there's anything I can do on this end to help out please let me know.

To fix this, set SLIK HDR Environment->SLIK HDR Image Effect to "Environment Color".I'm able to manually load an HDR created by SLIK2 into the default Modo environment and everything seems to work perfectly. Pls see the link below for details on using SLIK2 with OctaneRender for Modo. I can made mods to the plugin to streamline this workflow, but I would be interested in peoples feedback first as the the best way to do this. In particular, I can probably remove the need to create the emitter Octane Override (so the material will be created on the fly from the Modo Material).

Hello.
but is it correct that you still need to move the image to Modos default environment group, or have I missed something?

No, you just need to change the image Effect to Environment Color as per the last point in that blog post.but is it correct that you still need to move the image to Modos default environment group, or have I missed something?
