I'm trying to install the demo version under Maya, but it does not work. The stand alone works fine. I used to have maya 2016, but not anymore. So, I am interested to install Octane for Maya 2015. When I run the installer, I get:

[plalancette@poste-0425 Downloads]$ octane_maya_demo_2.24.2-7.14.run --install
Verifying archive integrity... All good.
Uncompressing OctaneRender for Maya DEMO...

Installing OctaneRender for Maya DEMO...
cp: cannot create regular file `/usr/autodesk/maya2016-x64/bin/plug-ins/OctanePlugin.so': No such file or directory
OctaneRender for Maya DEMO was successfully installed.

But when I look into: /usr/autodesk/maya2015-x64/bin/plug-ins
I see no OctanePlugin.so.

Any thoughts?

Hi
I have just successfully installed the OctaneRender™ Maya Demo v2.24.2-7.14 on Maya 2014 with no issues.
Have you correctly chosen your Maya version during the installation process?
It seems that you have tried to install the 2016 version, isn't it?

I don't see any choice into the download but LINUX and MAYA.
The only explanation in the documentation is for Windows.
Could it be a parameter in the installation line that I need to add: octane_maya_demo_2.24.2-7.14.run --install
