Hi do I need to purchase additional licenses of Octane to use the network render functionality in Cinema 4D? From the manual it looks like you need to run Standalone in the background with the slave daemons but I can't have Standalone running on two machines because I only have 1 license. I'm on a PC btw.
thanks

yes, you need a separate Standalone licence for every slave.

Ok sweet so I just purchased a new license for C4D and the Standalone. I still don't see the other machine/gpu's in the Octane C4D Network Rendering window of the master machine. I am running the Standalone and the slave daemon on the other PC. Also followed all the instructions in your online manual. I'm sure I just missed some really simple step. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi jevaone,
you don't need to run the Standalone on the slave, just install the net demon and restart. The master and the slave must be in the same net and, if the Master doesn't see the Slave, in general, the culprit is the firewall.
Let us know if you solve ;)

I forgot to mention that is important to make sure that the plugin and the Standalone demon are of the same version, eg, if you use the 2.25 plugin version, the Standalone demon must be the 2.25 and so on ;)
