yes - definitely x99 if m.2 is considered which uses some pcie lanes. Read a manual for pcie performance for any board before you buy it.

It all depends what you use for connecting 7 gpus - quality of risers, their length, 40pcie cpu 5930k min.,

ASUS X99-E WS
..
recommend this motherboard ASUS X99-E WS
I would be so sure even with quality risers..- jsut been contacted by one Guy that has problem to boot with more than 5GPUs - tested some of the best risers around (3M), still no luck.. though He haven't activated 4G yet..let's ask How he's doing right now =) I'll be back asap!smicha wrote:It all depends what you use for connecting 7 gpus - quality of risers, their length, 40pcie cpu 5930k min.,

I'm already two years using PCI-Express Riser = to three graphics cards . . . no problems I do not watch. The positive side is that the graphics card is not heated above 75 degrees Celsius... I also have doubts that all 7 cards will be determined this motherboard.
any riser, extender, etc..is another point to fail (& I'm not the only who mentions that)..as it sits in the path of signal. But, I don't mean to say using them is bad =)Goldisart wrote:I'm already two years using PCI-Express Riser = to three graphics cards . . . no problems I do not watch. positive side is ok as far as it works..when it will stop..have in mind where it could fail =) & test those things..as some pull the hair of from trying to solve stability issues..
I'm not to say that motherboard would not work..as I know multiple systems based on that mob that work with four, even dual GPU cards like titanZ, but.. I Also know users who can not boot with seven cards, other can't boot with more than 5 cards.. - noOne knows for sure why. Different units were tested, boards RMAed, etc..- treat this information as You wish.
