I have installed some weeks ago the Photoshop plugin OR Compositing. Every few days Creative Cluod warns me of a new version to install, but on the last two days I was solicited many times in a day even if I confirm the installation and it was successfully installed.

Do you have released so much updates on so few days and lately on few hours?

Manu

No, Octane doesn't project a mesh over another like xNormal or Knald, you can only bake textures on the same object. It's mostly useful if you want to bake lightmaps.

With the network rendering active the predicted render time is always changing, making it very difficult to know how much time each render will take.

Hi Manu,

We haven't released any new version of the plugin for a while, so I'm not sure why yo are getting those updates from Adobe. You might want to get in touch with them or just do a clean installation.

Should this keep happening please let us know and we'll try to talk to Adobe about it.

Thank you.

No Octane does not do mesh projection, but you can definitely bake your normals from a high poly mesh and them map them in your realtime engine using a low res geometry ;)

I've found another bug: Subdivision doesn't work with Alembic files. :|

Today I've tried to explore the baking feature in C4D and I've found that if I use any of the three 970 on my Amfeltech expansion cluster I get a system freeze for 20 seoconds, a black screen for another 10 and after that a system shutdown.
If I only use the GPUs installed in my box, everything is OK.
The scene doesn't use any textures and I've tried also to set the parallel samples to 1. Tried also to test the scene in Standalone but I get the same problem.

Does this happen just with that specific scene using a baking camera or also with other render targets within the same scene?

Have you tried connecting any of your cluster's GPUs directly to your PCIe, in that case, would that work?

Can you share your CUDA/driver versions and hardware specs please?
