Does version 1.2 work with a version 2.16 plugin?

I have the student version of Octane standalone (Version 1). I currently use a mac and notice that there is no student software for c4d. If i bought the version 2 plugin for c4d would it be compatible with the version 1 standalone?

Hi,
unfortunately, only the plugins developed internally by Otoy are part of the student licence system. The C4D plugin is developed by an external programmer and cannot be part of the student licence system. The integrated plugin supported are 3ds Max, Maya, Blender and Revit.
Anyway, Standalone version and plugin version should always match, eg you cannot use a v2 plugin with a v1 licence ;)
Probably there going to be an update to the student licence system, but not before the new v3 will definitely come out, so there are still some months to wait.
