Dear Support,
I have one request of Conversion specification of Poser Ambient Value Material,
Because I consume lot of time for Octane Material change manually.
Please show attachment 1, it is result of current conversion default.
Attachment 2 is assign with Poser original material manually, I modify 2-3 lights from default value.
This difference is very simple.
Current conversion specification is following.
1. If case of defined Poser ambient value with image map,
Conversion result is Texture Emission with Texture + Poser Ambient Color RGB value, and Power as Poser Ambient_Value.
This is no good convert for this situation, because Poser Ambient Color is just outbound color, not emission object.
2. If defined Poser Ambient_value with Image_Map,
Conversion result is ignore this, because result is just Texture Emission with Texture + Poser Ambient Color RGB value.
I wish following specification can make better result.
1. If defined Poser ambient value with image map,
Convert to Texture Emission with Texture + RGB Image as Poser Image Map
2. If Defined Poser Ambient_value with Image_Map,
Convert to Power + Greyscale Image as Poser Image Map of "Texture Emission with Texture + RGB Image as Poser Image Map".
Please consider this specification.
It is more good result from automatic conversion.

Hi - these seem like reasonable suggestions. I will take a look to see if they can be implemented in the next release.

I went to implement this, but got confused on the conversion rules you want. Firstly....
Also - an Image_Map be be plugged into both the Ambient_Color and the Ambient_Value - so how should these be treated?
May I suggest you post some screenshots of all the combinations that need to be converted, so that these rules are less confusing. Also, "Texture Emission with Texture + RGB Image as Poser Image Map" is not clear - I do not know what you mean by this.
My suggestion would be to have the Poser Diffuse_Color and Diffuse_Amount go into the Octane Diffuse pin. And the Ambient_Color goes into the Emission Texture. And the Ambient_Value goes into the Emission Power. EDIT: I don't think it makes sense to plug the Poser Diffuse values into the Octane Diffuse - better to just get the Emission pins right.

1 and 2 are the same situation - the Poser Material has an Ambient Value with an Image_Map. So I assume you have a typo somewhere.1.
What about if the Poser Material has the Diffuse_Color AND the Ambient_Value connected with an Image_Map?1. If defined Poser Diffuse_Color with image map,
Convert to Texture Emission with Texture + RGB Image as Poser Image Map
2. If Defined Poser Ambient_value with Image_Map,
Convert to Power + Greyscale Image as Poser Image Map of "Texture Emission with Texture + RGB Image as Poser Image Map".
Also - an Image_Map be be plugged into both the Ambient_Color and the Ambient_Value - so how should these be treated?

Paul, Thank you for your comment and new conversion rule on Octane Poser PlugIn.
It is very well work than older version.
I made one sample of new released conversion result with small manual change.
I found one point of different result from Poser FierFly.
Caused by following specification.
> And the Ambient_Color goes into the Emission Texture.
You can find small Blue lights line on side of aisle, this blue is specify by Poser Diffuse_color, not Poser Ambient color.
Therefore Poser FireFly render Blue, But Octane Poser Plugin convert to dark gray, becuase Poser ambient value is dark gray.
I change this manually.
I already inform Poser ambient color is outbound color, not light source, Poser light source color is still use Poser Diffuse_color. Poser has lot of wrong implementation about ambient value, but it is historical result and lot of shader set use it, therefore Poser dose not correct it.
I feel following specification is better than latest rule.

OK that means that Ambient_Color will be ignored. I will add this to the next release. And the Diffuse_Color goes into the Emission Texture, if no image map assigned.
