The demo doesnt let us use the live db??
If the livedb is very good this could be a huge factor in a customer including myself for buying the rendering engine. Does the standalone demo at least allow the livedb to be accessed? I really want to see whats in there as this is the most time consuming factor for me when im creating scenes, is the materials and textures.
?

Hi,
unfortunately all the demo versions don't have network connections, so the LiveDB option is disabled in all of them, standalone or plugin. Anyway I must confess that is not the best and could be improved. It's more like a first place to look at to better understand the Octane material system and where find some basic material setup.
Take in count that the real time behavior of Octane, makes the material creation and the fine tuning very easy and faster, since you have not to make tons of preview renders like with other workflows. Then you have the LocalDB where you can store your more used materials, and they are visible from both standalone and integrated plugin for easy management and integration
