Hey guys, I'm new to the forums, so I hope this is in the right place.
I'm going to build my first octane workstation (I'm currently mostly a C4d - Vray user)
I'm not particularly knowledgable about PC hardware, but I've put together a parts list based mostly around the recommendations given in this thread: viewtopic.php?f=25&t=50158
My main question is about the GPUs, I've picked the EVGA 980ti superclocked because it's got the highest base clock, but still uses a the reference cooler, since I've hear a few people say that stacking multiple non-reference coolers in a case without water cooling can cause big problems with high temperatures and noise and stuff.
Is this something I have to worry about about so much? I would probably prefer to run two ASUS 980ti STIX's because they have a much higher base clock, so you get a bit more bang for your buck.
I picked the "be quiet! Silent Base 800" case just because it said it's got good airflow and it's supposedly pretty quiet. Does anyone have other recommendations for a case? Specifically one that might help if I was to go with 2 non-reference GPU's (with the possibility of 3, or 4 in the future. Or is the possibility of 4 non-reference coolers just completely out of the question unless they're water cooled?)
I've pasted the parts list down below. If anyone notices anything that stands out as being a bad choice, or has any other feedback, that would be very helpful. AUD$5000 is probably about the limit of my budget for the system and OS.
