Hi Aoktar and Hi Asym.. i got exactly the same issue.. i'm on Mac OS X El Capitan last Built .. i'm on C4D R17 .048 with all the last update of Octane render StandAlone and PLUGIN.
I'm working with an external device for the GPU card... and i got three nvidia cards in it..

I got no problem when i start to render all my scene manually, one by one :(... but when i try to use the render Queue i got the same issue. It freeze C4D but also it has some consequences over the system itself, because my machine becomes pretty slow and it crash some others application.

I don't use specific plugin, everything i animated manually .. here is a example of one scene.

I will add my two cents as well.

I frequently run into this problem using the que. There doesn't seem to be much rhyme or reason that I can pinpoint as to why errors. My experience is that there is no crash, just a hanging render.
