Here a little attempt to work around the missing particle rendering abilities of Octane2xx. Can't wait for 3.0! Also tested the new Ricoh Theta S for HDRI capturing. Worflow description is in the video.

That's cool ! Like pretty good did you use particles with some alpha textures? ?
I also did some try with Ricoh Theta S
It's work awesome for me a bit slow to take a lot exposure but pretty good results now most of my renders I use the ricoh now.

I did not use alpha textures. Simple nparticles instanced with a platonic solid (to keep poly count as low as possible). Then used Octane scatter/absorption material to get the transparent look. The "flame-like" effects result from an over-bright octane light (yellow) parented to the engine of the X-Wing that illuminates the absorption material of the smoke.
The Theta S is really a lifesaver for taking HDR pictures. I use it in combination with the HDR360 Iphone App to control the camera. My only complain is that i can not adjust the white balance since the individual pictures are JPEGs.

I use the application called Thetaa S HDR for android is just perfect you can take 24 ev levels and set all settings white balance shutter speed but was you have the 32bit file you can white balance again by number so is fine for it if take on the scene a checkerboard or white paper then still possible to paint the nadir side with Flexify 2 for photoshop.
for me i use on production from 3 months now and is working great.
