First of all, I apologize if this question has been ask and answered before. I've just noticed that this function in the Octane settings called "Live DB" which to my surprise it contains ton of materials and textures which I can apply to my geometry in the scene. However, it often crashes and loading the material is slow. I also noticed that there's an option called "Local DB", is it possible that we select the materials which we like, download them and make them offline in the "Local DB" tab?

Cheers,
zk

Hi,
yes the Live DB section is for sharing or downloading materials with other users but it depends on your internet connection speed. Some materials could be very old or with components not supported by the plugin and could give some issues. The Local DB is used to store your personal materials collections and it can be seen in both plugin and standalone, so it's easy to share materials between the two ;)

Ahhh no wonder it keeps crashing. Pretty sad to see the materials section is wasted like this.

What do you mean "crashing"? I don't see any crashes in livedb. Versions? Which materials? Bugreports?
Can you give me any clue?
