viewport randomly refreshing

Hi there, lately my viewport started randomly refreshing the render, the autorefresh is set to off. It usually does it when I work while the render is running, when I swap from poser to for example web browser. This also happens during animation render. Is there some checkbox I am missing? What generally triggers the automatic refresh?
