Hey there. I am using Octane along with the Poser plugin and I noticed that during the render the cards are not at 100% power. Is this normal? I wouldn't want to have 30-40% of my gpu power wasted, the temperatures should not be an issue, I tried setting the fan speed to 100% (the noise was insane) but it's the same.

Octane will never use as much power as much in games. That is why GPU under Octane draws much less power and wattage - 780 6gb may draw 200W in Octane and 300W in gaming. If you want to increase power in your gpus you must overclock them but then temperature and voltage limits you if you have aircooled gpus.

What exactly does the power % represent, I thought that it represent the underclocking the card does when not fully utilized, so that 100% power is basicaly stock clock. Or is that something else?

It represent % usage of nominal TDP given by nvidia. Bear in mind that Octane does not utilise all gpu features but mainly CUDA. That is why it will hardly any exceed or even approach 100% of power usage. GPUZ and MSI power usage comparison attached.

Aah ok, so I am not losing any potential power. That's ok in that case, thanks.

OC titan to 1250mhz indicates 88% of power, 7806gb OC to 1300Mhz 77%.
