Hi
Im having trouble with the 3dsmax plugin, no gpu shows up in the GPU config tab, I've tried with standalone and it recognises my gpu and renders fine as do other cuda programs its just in the 3dsmax plugin there's a problem.
3dsmax 2015,
octane render standalone 2.24
octane render for 3dsmax plugin 2.24.2 - 1.13
nvidia drover 361.43
dual xeon E5-2695v3
128gb ddr4
GTX 980ti
I've tried different versions of drivers doesn't help, anyone have any other ideas?
thanks
Marc

This is a rare problem that we can't reproduce on our site. It is somehow related to 980Ti or Titans, last versions of NVidia drivers and 3ds Max occupying GPU resources for its viewports. Some users reported that the cards were shown in the settings the very first time after the plugin had just been installed, and disappeared in all subsequent sessions.
So, the more information you give - the more chances we understand the reason...
Also you can try to switch 3ds Max to OpenGL mode and see if that changes something... Try to to set different 3ds Max viewports modes and see if that changes something...

I've just tried changing to opengl plus other viewport drivers and changing viewport layout / wireframe etc nothing has worked unfortunately. Do you know if there's a safe driver I can roll back to to get things working again?

this is my bad, i didn't realise my motherboard had onboard graphics (ASUS Z10PE-D8 WS) as there is no dvi port etc but on further reading it does have a vga controller which is enabled by default and needed a jumper on the motherboard switched over to disable it. sure enough the test gpu I had in (gtx 770) has now been recognised and im sure the 980ti will be too.

Just to help other users with same problem:
I recently also encountered the "missing devices" with 3dsmax plugin and fixed it by disabling internal VGA of my motherboard (Asus Z9PE-D8WS). Thank you spillstudios for your tip !
My gtx titan z is now fully recognized by Octane render inside 3dsmax.
Now waiting for a better "fix" from otoy...
