Hi Gabriele,
why so negative?
This is not true, it's always a good idea stimulate the development with users inputs, but obviously this doesn't mean that everything that is listed here will become an Octane new feature any time soon ;)

All the features listed in the pool are already available except Multilight.

Octane 3.0 was announced on March 17 2016

The usable Octane for Max version compatible with the old scenes was released by Karba on Jan 23 then refined by Jimstar on May 25

We don't need a wizard to understand what Octane render needs. Pick Vray for example and you'll have all the answers.

On 11 Dec 2014 Chaos Group released Vray 3.0 sp1

On 09 June release Vray 3.2

Now the 3.3 is in beta...and they work also on the gpu side...

In Otoy we see a lot of announcements but zero new usable and compatible releases.

I don't see any great improvements in all these months of development.

We have 18 (!) Octane plugins....It's impossible to coordinate all this stuff.

For me there is a lot of confusion in Otoy....

We shared the V3 roadmap when we locked it down in March. The current status of V3 is updated in detail here:

viewtopic.php?f=9&t=50956

The V3 plug-ins will quickly follow updates to the core engine.

Hi Gabriele,
from v2 to v2.4.2 we have got almost all the new features listed in this poll and the few missing are going to come with v3 and much more (eg. deep pixel rendering, pause/resume render job, viewport manipulators, Open CL, Open SL and so on). Plus we have got a revision for all the kernels, GI Clamp is the best feature ever seen, in my opinion ;)
Again, comparing a CPU road map with a GPU road map is quite unfair, just my two cents.

I would love to have procedural displacement in the Maya plugin (the Maya forum has certainly heard me bang on about this enough).

Lightwave and Cinema have an option for this, but I guess this must be a tough thing to programme in Maya.

Multi-channel mapping could be an interesting new feature
