Hi all,

I'd like to add most of the videos that have been submitted to our animation competition to our website gallery.
This works only with videos encoded to an FLV type video.

May i ask the people that made contributions to the animation competition to make FLV versions of the animation so we can add them to a new gallery section i will be making ? the 'animations/shorts' section.

You should try to compress the FLV videos propperly, and i think an average size of 30 MB is doable. (if it's a long animation, 40-50MB is the limit)

If you have the FLV video, post a link to it here. (you can use one of the better file hosting services, then post a link and i'll download them)
Also provide your credits as you would like them to appear in the gallery, eg nick or full name, eg a string of less than 40 characters.

EDIT: I think it's a good idea, if you need to recompress it, and you need to downscale or equiv, to go for 720p resolution, eg 1280x720 or something approximately the same in number of pixels if you have a different aspect ratio.

Thanks,
Radiance

Hi Radiance

I already put a link to a flv version in the competition post. The address is http://www.livux.es/video.flv.

The problem I see is with size. In my case occupies 325Mb and that is with quality loss. Keep in mind that the duration of my animation is more than three minutes, the camera moves a lot, so there is almost not immobile zones which further hinders the compression and the resolution is 1Mpixel.
With all this I think 50Mb is very limited.

Hi Radiance,

Could you please advice us a software to convert HD videos in FLV ? So far, the only softwares I know only allow up to SD standard 720x576 or encode in higher resolution but without sound.

Hey,

We'll treat your entry as a special case and we're ok with it being that big. (although we might put it more to the end of the list in the gallery so we don't go over our bandwidth limit ;) )

I use blender, it has a FLV output.
Can't advise about other softwares, maybe someone else can explain how they did it ?

I have my animation as a 1080p FLV, is it ok? or do you need a smaller resolution?
I will post the link when arriving home.

I think it's better if you downsample it to 720p, otherwise it will take too much bandwidth...
