Hi,

Great news the Octane 3 alpha has been released today. Just wondering if there will be a Octane 3 for Lightwave plugin released soon?

Thanks

I want to release the first alpha builds of the LightWave plugin along next week or even this weekend ;)

Thanx so much Juanjo!

Did you say we will be able to use HV data to drive v3 volumes?

Nope, with Octane you can render OpenVDB files or you can build volumes from procedural textures. The LW HiperVoxels plugin doesn't have an API to extract the volumetric information to use it in external renderers, and anyway this technology is going to be obsolete in the next LightWave version.

So when the new LW stuff comes, we will be able to do volumes very quickly and easily, right?.. just like if we were using HV?

Do you (or anyone here ) know if turbulence FD produces the right stuff for v3 to render?

It was mentioned in the new features post 'creating a VDB file is typically done in a package such as Houdini or with a third party plugin available to many other packages such as TurbulenceFD'
