Hi. I will be buying a PC soon. I've seen that Octane works with the GPU => Less money to invest = good.
I've watched a video were Octane runs Modo materials. I am a little bit confused about "Octane Materials" vs "Modo Materials".
I would like to migrate to Octane just If I do not need to learn a new platfrom in order to build materials.
My question is: If Modo materials works on Octane why the option of Octane Materials?
Does Modo Mat work the same with Octane than with Modo render engine?
Thanks a lot this will help me to decide.

hi Bruno, Octane renders it's own materials and textures etc. External materials (e.g. Modo materials) are actually exported and converted into Octane materials by the Octane integrated plugin, and there are otherwise more complex materials that can be created using native Octane materials.

In most cases, yes, there is a very close match. However Modo procedural Shader Tree items are not supported.Does Modo Mat work the same with Octane than with Modo render engine?
