So I see that you have a MIX material to mix two materials together, but how do you COMP one material over another ? For example a LOGO over a base material ? Like a wine label over a base glass material ?
You can't. It's a current limitation and it has been requested many times

GTX 1080Ti 11GB (3x), Water-cooled
Intel i7-5820K 6-core @ 3.3GHz
Windows 10 Pro 64-bit, 32GB RAM

Hi there,,,
Just connect two materials into mix-materials channel 1 and 2,,, and connect into amount an alpha image,,, thats it.
Here comes a screenshot and the scene out of max 2016.
Hope, that helps.
Cheers,

No that is not the same thing. That simply mixes two diffuse textures together. But they share the same overall material parameters etc. They are the SAME overall material. I am talking about two totally separate materials, maybe one diffuse like brick, and one glossy like glass, and comp them together. Basically the same as MIX but not at the color level but at the entire material level.
Hi richardyarlett,
aren't you looking for that?
Label on glass?
That's the way it goes.
Here is the max scene...
Or am I misunderstood it again?
You wrote that you are looking for a solution to put a label on a glass.
