This is the recommended thread for downloading, and posting any questions, suggestions or support queries for OctaneRender for DAZ Studio - STABLE RELEASE.

DAZ Studio Version
DAZ Studio 4.8 or later on Window Vista, 7, 8 or 10 64bit

Nvidia Driver Version
Nvidia drivers 344.x or later. Recommend 358.50.

Network Rendering
For Network Rendering, you must use the Octane slave release 2.25 available from the Commercial Product News & Releases subforum.

If you have a support issue, pls provide the following information:
- Operating System (ie. Win XP, Vista, 7, 8)
- Amount of RAM
- Graphics Card(s) - model (ie. GTX 580, 3GB)
- Nvidia driver version
- DAZ Studio version
- OctaneRender for DAZ Studio version (ie. 2.24.2.1)

- The most important part of resolving a problem is me being able to re-produce that problem. So pls provide as much detail as possible in order for me to do this, and if the problem is specific to the scene, send me the scene.

I have posted the installer for OctaneRender for DAZ Studio 2.24.2.1 at the top of this thread.

The intent of this first release is to ensure that my build environment is producing a stable release for users. So pls consider this first release "experimental" and use with caution, and expect issues. Pls post feedback in this thread.

I am now using Windows 10 64bit and DAZ is definitely installed in the right folder.

I am using DAZ 4.8.0.59.

I can confirm the same issue as above. Windows 7 64bit. Daz 4.8.0.59 as well.

That did the trick. Installed, confirmed version 2.24.2.1. Test render success.

I tried to install both OctaneRender standalone and OctaneRender_for_DazStudio_2_24_2_1_Win64 on a new workstation on which Octane was not yet installed.

Standalone install and activation run without issues.

Installation of OctaneRender_for_DazStudio_2_24_2_1_Win64 in Daz Studio Pro BETA - version 4.9.0.36 got stuck at the activation process.

Error:

Could not create the settings file!
C:Users/USERNAME/OctaneRender/Data/OctaneRender_settings.oczdb

Update/Edit:
removed workaround so the cause of the issue can be tracked down.

Update/Edit: 2:

This error seems only to be triggered when installing on a NEW workstation on which before OcDS was NOT installed.

If on your computer
- OcDS was allready installed with an older installer
- a OctaneRender_settings.oczdb file was created
- OcDS was activated
- registry entires were created

you will not be able to reproduce the error.

Try running OctaneACM (from C:\Users\Paul\Documents\OctanePluginInstallerBuilds\DazStudio) as Administrator.

Update/Edit:

- removed a workaround I found that solved the issue temporarily but will prevent tracking down the root cause.

I will try again on the laptop to see if I can replicate the issue and solve it by running OctaneACM

from C:\Program Files\DAZ 3D\DAZStudio4".
