Hi there,
I'm trying to collect my objects set, using cinema 4d presets tools
Once created my own object with octane's materials, I drop it in my own preset library and everything seems to be ok... but when I try to reuse this object in my new scene, It doesn't load textures.
Exploring materials loaded from presets, I can see the preview inside "image texture" property, but not in the material preview neither in render output... it seems the material can't point the file from library.
The file source of textures looks something like :
preset://mylib.lib4d/OBJECTS/tex/texture.jpg
Is there a way to use this workflow?
Am I doing something wrong?
Thank you
using : C4D Studio 16.051
octane : 2.24.0 R1

Aoktar, if I save the whole project on my desktop and reopen it, it works and my textures are ok.
If I take a texture from my .lib4d file, I've missing maps...
Is it normal ?
Thanks

No. Plugin makes a copy of textures from lib4d and use. It copies them to "tex" directory under project or c4d startup writable directory if it's not saved scene yet. Can you look for that?bertritude wrote:Aoktar, if I save the whole project on my desktop and reopen it, it works and my textures are ok.

I think it's better for me to use catalog instead of library.
I can overwrite and save projects with this.
Thanks for your help

Same problem here. I have made a lib4d and put an Octane material with a texture into it. The content browser shows both, the material and the texture used in it. I can drag the texture (jpg) into the picture viewer and see it there.
Octane however can not open the jpg. The path of the texture is preset://test.lib4d/tex/noise_glitter_texture.png
Am I doing something wrong? I need to set up a working lib4d with Octane materials for my team. Help please.

Hi, I think I have found a workaround.
When you Alt+drag a material into the Content browser (into the accordind lib4d library), the textures will not be copied into the lib4d. This way the path to the textures will not be altered, and Octane can handle them. This means when I build up a material library, I will have one uber folder where I will put all my textures. I guess that's the way to do it, until Aoktar or someone else offers a better solution.
Oh and one more thing: It is possible to share a lib4d file over the network, so that multiple people can use it. I have only found the german part of the documentation but here it is.
Cheers.
