OTOY purchased the OcDS source code from t_3. OTOY now owns the DAZ plug-in. This took longer than expected.

t_3 will stay on in advisory capacity going forward.

A new dev (whom we fully trust) will be leading development going forward. This transition is currently underway. We will share further details when everything has been finalized. We hope that will happen shortly now that we are at this point.

Thank you for your patience.

Thank you for explaining. It now makes more sense why there was such a long delay.

I wrongly assumed that the contract with 3rd party developers treated them more like hired staff with the source code belonging to Otoy by default.

It is good to read that the connection between Otoy and t_3 was not completely severed.

t_3 had great visions how to make work with plugins not simply efficient but also enjoyable.

Hopefully the role as advisor will make it possible to ensure that some of his not yet finished ideas that showed a lot of potential will get carried on.

Good to hear the update. Negotiations take time. I figured that was the path things were going.

Now that the solution has been announced I think people can understand the challenges OTOY had to get to this result.

Excited again :)

You?
LOL, certainly not - I'm just a humble shader developer...
Besides of graphics-nodes and a firm understanding of materials in the world of PBR I'm nowhere near the excellence of some of the fantastic coders which code plug-ins for OctaneRender.
