Hi,

Topic wasn't the best but i didn't know how to explain it in a few words

Any away, as i'm waiting for the next Mac Pro model so i can upgrade my current MP to a Nvidia based system so i can get Octane i have a question.
I'm still a low level modeler and will probably mostly use Sketchup, but from what i've seen here it can make beautiful models to render so i'm happy with that for now.

Now to my question:
If i model something in Sketchup and export that into Octane and change materials and add lights and so on, is there any way to bring the model back into SU and continue modeling and bring that back to Octane again and previous changes made in Octane for that scene/model will remain?

Cheers

Hi,

All your octane settings are stored in your OCS project (which the demo can't save).
You can change your model in skechup afterwards, and relink it (eg reload the model, keeping the materials/scene in octane intact, the materials are reconnected by material name)

Good. You'll need a license though to get the sketchup plugin at this time, they are not included in the demo version yet.

I currently have a Radeon 4890 in my Mac Pro, to bad they aren't supported.
Well... time to upgrade to a new Pro anyway.
