Here we go again.
I really do not understand why you cannot tell us whats going on. I mean is it really a super top secret negotiation your driving with another developer or did you put the gun to T3's head? With every update your giving us, your just stalling and asking us to wait for the big news.
We, your paying customers want to know whats going on and when (or if) development will continue, no more stalling.

There is a V3 plug-in coming. We are making necessary changes to ensure it is released in a timely manner alongside other V3 plug-ins. We expect these changes will further improve communication and updates in general along the way there.
We are hoping to finalize the remaining details in the coming weeks so that we can finally announce exactly what these changes will entail.

I dont think anyone should expect we will get the plugin for free just because of the troubles we have had with the current plugin.3dmania wrote:ok thanks for the update, at least that is some concrete information.
I know this may be a bit soon, but this leads to some burning questions
- Will We DAZ Users receive this upgrade to v3 for free?
- Will older versions of the plugin be fixed?
I recall there was either 1 free plugin, or a discounted plugin if you bought an octane2.0 license within a certain period after it was released. -if- they do a similar thing with octane3, then im sure we could use it on the daz plugin, even if the plugin itself wasnt ready at the time of octane3 release

It's their right to define the pricing for V3, but for me is more important to get what I paid for:Nubblet wrote:

* released version of DAZ Studio plugin for Octane 1.x series (currently only 1.2 beta exists)
* released version of DAZ Studio plugin for Octane 2.x series (currently even beta doesn't exists)
And both products must be supported (bugfxies, adaptation for new Studio releases etc.)
It they plan to abandon these versions they have to offer something in return.

As the time i bought the OCDS Plugin there was one free Plugin update included.
We needed that for the activation of the beta releases of V2. But there was never a released V2 Version then. Now comes V3.
My question is will i be able to use my "free update" for that or do we need the by it again because this voucher was used for the v2 (which at least was never an official release) ?
Can you give us an answer for that ?

Thanks for the update.
I agree with the others, I was wondering if we would have to pay to upgrade considering the state of things with 1.x and 2.x.

Since V3 is planned, will it have all the features of the current version of the plugin? "Necessary changes" is ambiguous. We are making necessary changes to ensure it is released in a timely manner alongside other V3 plug-ins.

I agree! What was the point of even upgrading to Octane v2 when we still don't even have a v2 plugin? Yes, I can now just about render animation but I could do exactly the same in OCDS v1. Not only do I think we should receive the v3 plugin for free but the standalone too. As far as I'm concerned the standalone is just an expensive dongle for a barely beta v2 plugin.asennov wrote:It's their right to define the pricing for V3, but for me is more important to get what I paid for:Nubblet wrote:

Wow, so instead of fixing all the issues in v2...you guys have been working at v3???
Really customer friendly, nice to see OTOY and T3 are putting existing customers and all the trouble they have with the (beta) released v2 products in first place....not.
